A tearful reaction to a sad song is usually reserved for an emotional response. But for Robin Quivers, it was a result of finding it so funny she couldn’t contain her laughter.

On Monday, the Stern Show co-host could not control herself as she listened to the John Prine ballad “Hello in There,” an emotional tune about being kind to older people.

“You’re the first person I ever saw who heard that part of the song and started laughing,” Howard marveled. “You are a trip. That’s like finding roadkill funny.”

“This is going to kill me,” Robin admitted as she wiped her tears of laughter with a tissue.

The co-host was able to pull herself together long enough to explain it was the wording of “Hello in There” causing her to erupt. “I thought all of the other words before that were poignant and beautiful, and then he comes and says, ‘Hello in there. Hello, are you in there?’” she said before declaring, “Don’t bring me any more songs.”
